Job Announcement for Graduate Student Recruitment Specialist, Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences
The Graduate Student Recruitment Specialist has responsibility for all recruitment activities within the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences. These activities include development of recruitment strategies to promote the GSBS programs and recruitment of top students. The ability to articulate the various programs and research to potential students is critical in order to reach potential students for our specialized and traditional programs.

Reporting to: Director of Recruitment & Minority Affairs

Position Responsibilities:
  • Development and implementation of recruitment activities for the GSBS
  • Represent UNTHSC at state and national recruiting events
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with undergraduate institutions.
  • Develop recruitment literature including brochures, catalog and website
  • Organize faculty recruitment trips to undergraduate institutions; to highlight various research programs.
  • Working knowledge of all educational programs and research programs within the GSBS is required in order to adequately promote the benefits of attending the graduate school at UNTHSC.
  • Expertise in web-based applications and new technologies
  • Increase the number and quality of applicants to GSBS programs.
  • Coordinate recruitment travel.
One-Year Expectations
  • Assist the Director in developing a strategic recruiting plan.
  • Meet with GSBS faculty to become familiar with research activities within the GSBS.
  • Review and revise (as needed) all recruitment literature.
  • Schedule introductory meetings with undergraduate institutions.
  • Increase the number and quality of graduate school applicants.
Five-year Expectations
  • Support the creation of a highly effective GSBS recruitment process and maintain highly beneficial partnerships with undergraduate institutions.
  • Ensure GSBS meets the UNTHSC 5-year Strategy Plan for graduate student enrollment.
Position Requirements:
  • MS, Science (PhD preferable)
  • Background in graduate student recruitment activities
  • Extensive travel
  • Good communication and personal skills

Job Announcement for Director of Academic Assessment
The University of Houston-Downtown is seeking a Director of Academic Assessment to be the campus leader for assessment of student learning outcomes. The Director will work with all academic programs on developing program-level outcomes, curriculum mapping/alignment, means of assessment, analyzing results, and developing plans to improve student learning. Other duties will be related to assessment records and reporting to regional and discipline-specific accreditors and fostering a campus-wide culture of assessment. The position requires a doctorate (ABDs considered). Salary is highly competitive.

Job Announcement for Instructional Designer/Course Management and Development at TLTC, TTU
Job Responsibilities:
Teach classes that inform faculty on the possible uses of various technologies and quality standards to enhance the teaching and learning process. Provide support to faculty through consultations for Blackboard and other instructional technologies. Provide support to faculty for Quality Matters. Provide support to faculty who teach face-to-face, hybrid, and solely online classes. Assist with web content update on the TLTC website. Have working knowledge of instructional design principles and their applications to course design.

Qualifications:
Applicants must have exceptional customer service skills and be able to communicate clearly and at an appropriate pace with faculty members who have technical proficiency as well as those with less experience. Applicants should hold at least a bachelor’s degree in Educational and Instructional Technology (EDIT), Management Information Systems (MIS), or another related area; OR a combination of related education and/or full-time paid experience to equal two (2) years.

Responsibilities include planning, leading, coordinating, and overseeing an office that serves faculty needs in the areas of teaching and learning, research support, technology, and leadership at all career stages across the university.

Job Announcement for Director of the Active and Collaborative Engagement for Students (ACES) Project, Lamar University
Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas, is seeking a full-time Director of the Active and Collaborative Engagement for Students (ACES) Project. The Director will be responsible for the implementation, assessment, and ongoing improvement of the ACES project, a part of Lamar University’s Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP). As Director of ACES, the position will focus on increasing active and collaborative learning for students in freshman-level classes across the Lamar University curriculum. The Director will organize activities related to ACES including faculty development, project management, and ongoing project improvement. The Director of the ACES project must have an earned Doctoral degree, with eligibility for a tenure-track or tenured appointment through a demonstrated record of teaching effectiveness, scholarship and service. The Director must have university-level experience administering and evaluating programs involving faculty professional development, instructional improvement, and/or student academic success. In addition, the preferred, ideal candidate should understand best practices in faculty professional development, instructional design, and assessment; should operate effectively within a highly collaborative, team-oriented environment; and should possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills to serve a diverse faculty and student population.
