The TFDN West Texas 2009/2010 Regional Meeting is excited to be meeting in conjunction with the Seventh International Sun Conference on Teaching and Learning, sponsored by the Center for Effective Teaching and Learning at the University of Texas at El Paso this year! The conference will take place on March 4th and 5th, 2010, with key note speakers Dr. Marilla Svinicki (UT- Austin) and Dr. Ann Gates (UTEP), who will focus on the impact of scholarship of teaching and learning on best practices in higher education, and the benefits of effective integration of research and teaching respectively.

The Sun Conference is accepting proposals for 50-minute Round Table discussions, 20- minute Best Practices in Teaching sessions, 20-minute SoTL Session, and poster presentations that will allow faculty and student instructors to explore questions, exchange ideas, and learn novel approaches to effective teaching and learning. The proposal submission deadline is December 4th, 2009.
